It's OK on a metal, but because parts of it are white, it's
not OK on argent. Here is a precedent about a similar situation:
"Luke Aucher. Device. Argent, a great auk close proper and a chief
rayonny gules. This device is returned for lack of contrast.
Unfortunately, just as a black orca with a white belly can't be put
on an argent field (v. Rowan Seer, March 2000), so too a black auk
with a white belly can't be put on an argent field." [LoAR 07/2007]
An urchin proper couold be put on an Or pile, if your submitter
wouldn't mind that change.

Piles should not be *quite* as wide as the shield; they do not issue
from the corners, but from further in:
"Godfrey de Bolden. Device. Or, on a pile rayonny sable, three cups Or.
The primary charge is not really a pile, as piles do not issue from
the corners of the shield. Please have the submitter narrow the pile in
chief when he resubmits." [LoAR 10/1990]
