While I might agree, the simple fact is the CoA ties all submissions to the
name, so they need a unique name to file everything under. While it would
likely be very period to have many James of York's it won't work for our
system. Single word names fall in the same, the first Throgrim would knock
out all others, but if we have Thorgrim (something) there can be many
Thorgrim's. That's the logic not that it's right. I would advise the client
to get a great period name now and he can still use steelbender as a
knickname that's not registered, this is not prohibited. Thorgrim with any
desired surname or occupational byname is great, with appropriate
documentation, of course. Mistress Moraig has a brand new copy of the
Landamabook (sp) that would be excellent!
